Shop genuine JDM Nissan SR20DET engines for sale, imported directly from Japan by JDM Alliance. The SR20DET is the 2.0-litre turbocharged four that powered the Silvia through three generations and became the default 240SX swap in North America. Every engine here is auction-graded in Japan, compression tested on arrival, and photographed as the actual unit that ships to you.
The three generations are easy to tell apart by valve cover, and they are not equivalent. The S13 red top (1991–1993) uses a T25 turbo, runs 8.5:1 compression and makes roughly 205 hp — the cheapest entry and still the most common swap engine. The S14 black top (1994–1998) adds a ball-bearing T28 turbo, revised head and roughly 217 hp, with better spool and a stronger factory ECU. The S15 notch top (1999–2002) is the one to buy if budget allows — 250 hp, variable-cam VTC on the intake, a bigger T28 and a six-speed-capable setup.
All three share the same block architecture, so parts cross over freely. If you are building past roughly 400 hp, plan on rods and a fuel system regardless of which top you start with — the stock SR20 rods are the known limit.

Engines are sold as a long block with the accessories shown in the listing photos. Turbo, manifold, harness, ECU and transmission are included only where the listing states it — the photos are of the actual unit, so check them. Every engine is compression tested and its serial number is recorded against the listing; we send you photos and the serial before it ships, and you approve before it leaves the warehouse.
Replacement engines carry a start-up warranty of up to 90 days; performance variants carry 30 days. Take local pickup at our Dallas, TX warehouse at 10203 Corkwood Rd, or crated freight anywhere in the lower 48.
