The 1JZ-GTE is Toyota's 2.5L turbocharged inline-six — the 2JZ's rev-happy little brother and one of the best-value turbo sixes you can put in a drift or street build. JDM Alliance imports 1JZ-GTE engines directly from Japan and stocks them at our Dallas warehouse for local pickup or crated freight nationwide.

The 1JZ-GTE was never sold in a US-market car, so every unit here is a swap engine. Early versions (roughly 1990–1996) are non-VVTi with parallel twin turbos; the later VVTi version runs a single turbo and stronger low-end torque. Donor cars include the Soarer (JZZ30), Chaser, Mark II and Cresta (JZX90/JZX100) and the JDM Supra MkIII (JZA70). One detail that matters for your swap: Soarer and Supra engines use a front-sump oil pan, while Chaser/Mark II/Cresta (JZX) engines use a rear-sump pan — crossmember clearance in your chassis decides which you want, and pans can be swapped if needed. Tell us the car it's going into and we'll match the right configuration. Our engines typically run 45,000–70,000 miles, documented from the auction sheet.
Each engine is sold as a long-block assembly with turbo(s) as pictured: block, head, valvetrain, oil pan and timing components. You transfer or source separately: wiring harness, ECU, intercooler and piping, accessories and mounting hardware. The engine in the photos is the actual unit you receive, and we confirm the serial with you before it ships.
Every 1JZ-GTE is compression-tested, its auction grade is documented, and it is photographed as the actual unit. As a performance/upgrade engine, the 1JZ-GTE carries a 30-day warranty plus a 30-day return window, both starting the day the engine arrives.
1JZ-GTE pricing varies with mileage, generation and container timing — check the current listings below for live pricing, with free local pickup in Dallas and flat-zone crated freight to the lower 48. Before first start-up: replace the valve cover, oil pan and rear main seals while the engine is out, verify your sump orientation against your crossmember, prime the oil system, and inspect turbo shaft play. VVTi engines need engine management that controls the cam gear — sort your ECU plan before the engine lands. Have a certified mechanic handle the install — it's also a warranty condition — and change the oil again after the first 500 miles.
There's no USDM counterpart, so plan it as a swap: the R154 and common JZ-pattern transmissions bolt up, and you'll run either the JDM harness and ECU or a standalone. Nothing from a US-market Toyota ECU carries over directly.
Typically 45,000–70,000 miles. Japanese vehicle inspection costs push cars out of service early, which is why JDM engines average far lower mileage than US junkyard pulls.
Performance/upgrade tier: 30 days plus a 30-day return window, starting the day the engine arrives. Claims go to warranty@jdmallianceusa.com with your invoice, installer certification and compression readings.
