The SR20DET powered the JDM Silvia and 180SX lines: the S13-era red top, the S14 introduced the notch-top black top with variable cam timing on the intake side, and the S15 black top added a ball-bearing turbo and the strongest factory output of the family. All of them drop into the 1989–1998 US 240SX (S13/S14) in place of the KA24, with S13 engines pairing naturally with S13 chassis and S14/S15 engines with S14 swaps — though cross-fitting is common with the right mounts and harness work. Each engine is sold as a long-block assembly with turbo as pictured: block, head, valvetrain, oil pan and timing components. Most SR20DET units come with the manifolds and turbo attached; you source separately the intercooler and piping, swap mounts, and either the JDM harness and ECU or a standalone. The engine in the photos is the actual unit you receive, and we confirm the serial with you before it ships.
Every SR20DET is compression-tested, its auction grade is documented, and it is photographed as the actual unit. As a performance/upgrade engine, the SR20DET carries a 30-day warranty plus a 30-day return window, both starting the day the engine arrives.

Before first start-up: replace the valve cover, oil pan and rear main seals while the engine is out, check the timing chain guides (a known SR wear point), inspect turbo shaft play, and set rocker arm lash — the SR's rocker arms don't forgive neglected oil. Fill with fresh oil and coolant, have a certified mechanic handle the install — it's also a warranty condition — and change the oil again after the first 500 miles.
Yes — it's the standard swap. The SR bolts to the S-chassis with the correct mounts, and the JDM SR transmission mates to your existing driveshaft with minor work. You'll run the JDM harness and ECU (or a standalone) rather than the stock KA electronics.
